When I heard the book was going to be made into a movie, I was skeptical. After all, the previews looked NOTHING like the actual book. And yes, I'm one of those people who loves when things are true to the books they were made from. Also, it looked rather cheesy and stupid.
Last night, I went with Jen to see this movie. It was about an amateur scientist who has good ideas, but they backfire on him every time. He's already let a pack of rat birds loose in the city and he's given himself permanent shoes (they look like those sparkly jelly shoes from the 90s). He tries an invention that he accidentally sends up into the sky. It's supposed to create food from simple water. It ends up making the town a hot spot and making him a hero. What could possibly go wrong? A LOT of things.
Overall, I was right. The movie was cheesy and stupid. It was probably made for kids with ADD with all the sparkles and funny sounds. I will admit, its one of those movies you can watch and not be sad afterward. It had me laughing at the stupidity of it.
If you're in a bad mood, go see this movie. It's a good 'wtf' movie. If nothing else, it'll make you forget your problems for a little while.
